The journey begins with the young person engaging with an Ignition! Travel Guide. This can be a coach, trainer or teacher.
The Departure Date is then set. Before they can start their journey, the Traveller (young person or business professional) goes to the Online Check-in to complete a short quiz which will give them their Boarding Pass.
The Boarding Pass is a 2-page document which shows them their best personal mix of Fuel, i.e. activities that will give them the energy to live their lives in the happiest, most fulfilled way and allow them to reach their full potential. It also tells them in brief how they are likely to show up in the world, what they are naturally talented at, what will challenge them, what they will find easy and what they might find hard.
It is the start of a conversation to discover if this who they really are and explore the insights and questions raised as the person takes the information in.
The next part of the journey is either 1-2-1 coaching or it might be group sessions depending on the situation; or a combination of the two.
As soon as their journey begins, the young person is issued with their Passport. The Passport is a workbook that the young person and Travel Guide go through together and it follows a structured pathway of personal development and self-discovery. Each step of the journey is a destination and so, just like in a real passport, a Stamp in your Passport says you have arrived.
All Ignition! programmes can be used as 1-2-1 coaching sessions for young people. Each session lasts between one hour and 90 minutes and can be delivered face-to-face by a local coach or delivered via the Ignition! online video platform.
Both options are effective and allow flexibility in time, travel and location.
The number of coaching sessions depend on the needs of the young person, the level of support required and the reason why they embarked on their journey. Typically, six to twelve sessions will give the young person the skills, strategies and confidence they need to make the changes required in their lives.
